Evelina Dee-Shapland
Born and raised in Moscow, I draw creative inspiration from my diverse heritage— my father is Korean, and my mother is of Chinese and Russian descent. This rich cultural tapestry shaped my artistic vision. After completing a degree in fine arts at the Surikov Arts Institute in Moscow, I relocated to the UK in 2000 and earned a BA in Graphic Design from the Arts University Bournemouth.
Professionally, I specialise in commission-based portraiture and illustrate books and greeting cards for St Silouan's Press. I work as a graphic designer for an architectural practice in Winchester (ADAM Architecture), and create illustrations for their masterplanning developments.
Beyond my commercial work, I am constantly immersed in personal projects. I have a deep passion for portraiture and capturing the atmosphere of different places. My creative curiosity spans a wide variety of mediums, including printmaking, calligraphy, bookbinding, felt sculpting, sewing, and embroidery.
